Comparative Tasting Dinner at Safety Beach

Tumbarumba - Mornington Peninsula Comparative Tasting Dinner

The FMPV Comparative Dinner is an annual event providing an night of fun where we get the opportunity to rate the wines presented from two of our premium wine regions up against each other. This year sees a return to the Safety Beach Sailing Club on Saturday 27th May commencing at 6:30pm for pre-dinner drinks. This will be followed by our blind tasting event where once again we will be treated to a magnificent five course dinner by Chef David Snooks and his team where they will pair their food with the fine wines from the two outstanding regions of Mornington Peninsula and Tumbarumba.

We have chosen a region that richly deserves its reputation for producing many of Australia's best Piniot Noir and Chardonnay wines, as well as other outstandiong varietals.

Located in Southern New South Wales the Tumbarumba wine region enjoys the same mean temperature as Burgundy and produces similar wines to the Mornington Peninsula. This is truly a unique cool climate area producing elegant and refreshing wines and will prove a great comparison for the evening. We have some great speakers who will share their knowledge of wine as well as engage in discussions about their respective regions

We will commence the evening with a Sparkling from Tumbarumba on arrival and look to conclude with a Late Harvest wine from the Mornington Peninsula. During the evening wines to be compared will be of similar price point and vintage and include Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Shiraz. Each wine will be served accompanied by the food course designed by Chef David Snooks in what will be a wonderful and fun evening.

Cost is $165 for members and $180 for guests.

(Please note that Trybooking charges booking fees which will be added on purchase).

Bookings are now open and will close May 17th.
